Steve Dunham

Steve is an international development advisor with 12 years’ experience designing, implementing, managing and monitoring a range of development projects in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. A WASH and HIV programming specialist, Steve also has experience designing, monitoring or evaluating food security and advocacy programs, including mining engagement projects designed to enhance the influence and quality of life of mining-affected communities.

 

Over the past 8 years Steve worked with Plan International Australia and World Vision Australia. As a Program Manager with Plan, Steve helped design and manage the organisation’s AusAID-funded Water & Sanitation Initiative in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda.

Steve is an international development advisor with 12 years’ experience designing, implementing, managing and monitoring a range of development projects in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. A WASH and HIV programming specialist, Steve also has experience designing, monitoring or evaluating food security and advocacy programs, including mining engagement projects designed to enhance the influence and quality of life of mining-affected communities.

 

Over the past 8 years Steve worked with Plan International Australia and World Vision Australia. As a Program Manager with Plan, Steve helped design and manage the organisation’s AusAID-funded Water & Sanitation Initiative in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda. From 2012-2015, Steve served as a Country Program Manager and later as a Senior Portfolio Advisor with World Vision Australia. He managed grant and sponsorship-funded activities in Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique and Swaziland, including maternal, newborn and child health, WASH, livelihoods, agriculture, advocacy, education and child protection projects and programs.

 

Steve is also an experienced trainer and facilitator. Since 2009, he has facilitated 7 program design workshops for Plan and World Vision using the Theory of Change methodology, two involving 60+ participants from multiple African countries and regions. He also has a passion for qualitative monitoring, and has designed and led numerous field-based trainings for DME and project implementation teams across East, West and Southern Africa.

 

Steve is currently based in Melbourne where he is preparing to lead a 3-country health and education advocacy evaluation for World Vision in West Africa. He is available for short-term assignments from late July 2016.
